Life in Tents

Learn More

At Life inTents, we design, sell and rent luxury glamping tents. Our cotton canvas bell tents are the toughest and most elegant tents on the market, making them perfect for glamping businesses, overland expeditions, backyard guest houses, and hunting tents.

Our adventure started with our engagement in 2011 that we parlayed into an opportunity to explore the world together. We became in TENT on helping others to disconnect from the comforts of daily routines - to embrace challenges of an uncommon and meaningful path. We then shared our home, our VW van, and now our bell tents for a greater purpose: to spread Joy, Comfort, and Connection throughout the land.

While we can’t take credit for inventing portable sleeping tents (that gratitude goes to the Indigenous nomadic tribes), we do take pride in making tents to be more durable, comfortable and elegant.

We performed extensive field tests by setting up camp for hundreds of glampers in the wild Pacific Northwest. Then we got to work designing a canvas bell tent that will both stand up to mother nature and stand out on social feeds.

We source the heaviest (most durable) and brightest (most elegant) cotton canvas, double stitch our seams, add waterproofing, mold resistance, and fire retardancy so that these canvas tents will last.

Pacific Yurts

Learn More

A Quality Product, a Quality Experience. So how is it that a company is able to grow from its humble beginnings in an old Oregon dairy barn to the leader of its industry?

In our case, first we had to create the industry. That happened in 1978, when we pioneered the modern adaptation of the yurt, which has been for centuries the traditional dwelling of Mongolian nomads. From that point forward, as other yurt companies have come and gone, we’ve continued to grow and to stay atop our industry.

We attribute our success to a combination of factors, not the least of which, of course, is the quality of our product. But as much as our customers rave about their yurts, they also speak of the quality of their experience with our company. For all of us at Pacific Yurts, there could be no higher praise. From the beginning, our guiding philosophy has been to create the best yurt in the world, and to treat our customers the way we like to be treated as customers – professionally, respectfully, fairly and honestly.

Handcrafted Movement

Learn More

Handcrafted Movement was born out of a desire to pursue excellence and creativity. This is about more than just creating products. This is about questioning the status quo and finding a more excellent way in all that we put our head, heart and hands to. This is about playing a part in the rebirth of American quality, ingenuity and pride in manufacturing.

Having spent over a decade in the construction industry I've had the opportunity to develop a broad skillset while taking on different roles in the building of 1000+ new residential homes. Additionally, spending extensive time traveling and living around the world opened my eyes to different cultures, design principles and materials. I'm excited to combine those experiences with my passion for craftsmanship, the arts, and sustainability to create truly one off creations with my team of Craftsmen.

In a world of homogeneous mass production I strive to go against the grain and build 1-off creations. I'm interested in both form and function so strive to make beautiful objects that will work well in the real world for years to come. I enjoy finding ways to integrate multiple mediums in what I create such as wood, leather, glass, metal and live plants.

I'm also passionate about teaching and providing opportunities for the next generation of creative leaders in serving as Executive Director of Artisan Academy, a Non-Profit Organization.

Idea Box

Learn More

We're a design firm that is all about simplified lifestyle without compromise.

ideabox is about living in the moment. It’s a house that is about a good bottle of wine paired with good friends, a house you can enjoy because it lets you be part of life and the balance of nature. We designed it that way.

ideabox started from a resume of architectural design, energy and resource efficiency, and prefab construction.

Most importantly, ideabox is about the “right amount of everything”. That right assembly of green materials, energy efficiency, modern design, and a helpful site coordination service makes the process simple.

Every ideabox is built to exceptional standards. We utilize construction assemblies that provide superior strength so our homes transport well and install for a lifetime. All framing materials are kiln dried and ordered to length to minimize waste. Each home is constructed inside the building facility: protected, square and level. That’s architecture and art!

ideabox is a prefabulous home solution with smart, clean designs and loft-like amenities to lighten your impact and maximize your lifestyle.

Tiny Heirloom

Learn More

As a family run business, we hold our values and principles close to heart in every decision we make. We believe that upright integrity and hard work is how a company makes history.

With over a decade of team experience in residential construction, we realized there was something more meaningful in building tiny. So we immersed ourselves in the tiny home movement and despite all its glory, we found there was something lacking. Downsizing to create a more simple and free life is what it’s all about but at what point do you stop compromising your living standards?

We decided to bridge the gap so that downsizing doesn’t have to mean downgrading. At this point, we realized there was something special so we took it even one step further. Why couldn’t we create a way for someone to downsize and upgrade at the same time?

So, striving to take a creative and fairly new tiny home platform and make it exceptional in all fronts, spurred us on to come up with a way people can take ownership of the simple yet complex thought that “less is more”.

We have set out to do just that.

Prefab Building

FAQs

What's the difference between different kinds of prefab buildings?

There are four primary types of prefab buildings. Standard prefab homes are much like stick-built homes, only built offsite. Prefab tiny homes are smaller wheeled living spaces, similar to RVs. Offices, studios, and bunkies are usually one room buildings used for work or extra sleeping, and usually don't have any plumbing. Guesthouses (or cabins, cottages, or ADUs) are similar to prefab homes but are usually made smaller to act as a second home, weekend getaway, in-law suite, or rental property. More details can be found in our Ultimate Guide to Buying a Prefab Home.
